What should I do first when I notice a leak?

If it is safe, stop the source — shut a valve or move the item causing the leak — and contain the water with towels or a small container. Then take photos of the affected area before anything is moved. From there you can call us or your building management to coordinate the cleanup.

How long does drying usually take?

Most residential drying jobs run two to four days, depending on what got wet and how saturated it is. We use moisture meters daily, and the equipment stays in place until the readings come down to normal levels for the materials involved.

Do you work in occupied apartments?

Yes — most of our jobs are in occupied units. We try to keep equipment placement, noise, and access manageable, and we coordinate with building staff when needed.

What causes recurring damp spots on a wall?

Common causes include slow leaks behind the wall, condensation on cold exterior walls in winter, water entry through window or roof junctions, and poor ventilation in the room. The right fix depends on which of these is actually happening, which is why we spend time on diagnosis before recommending a repair.

Is waterproofing the same as fixing a leak?

No. Waterproofing prevents future water entry into walls, floors, or below-grade areas. Fixing a leak addresses the specific source of an active problem. Many jobs involve both, in the right order.

Will paint cover a moisture problem?

Only briefly. Paint over wet or salt-laden surfaces will blister, peel, or stain again. The underlying moisture issue needs to be addressed first, and the surface needs to dry out, before any finish work will hold.

Do you handle insurance documentation?

We document conditions with photos, moisture readings, and a clear written summary of the work performed. Most insurance carriers and building management offices accept this format for water damage claims.

Are you available 24/7 for emergencies?

We are not a 24-hour emergency company. For an active flood, contact your building management and a plumber first to stop the source. We can usually be on site within normal business hours to assess and start cleanup once the source is contained.

Do you work in small commercial spaces?

Yes — small offices, ground-floor retail, and similar mixed-use spaces are part of our regular work, particularly in Manhattan.

How do I get an estimate?

Send a few photos and a short description of what is happening through the contact form, or call us. For most jobs we follow up with a brief site visit before providing a written estimate.

Have a question that is not listed?

Send us a message — we will reply during business hours.
