A small, Manhattan-based contractor focused on waterproofing and restoration work.
Starcel Waterproofing & Restoration Corp. is a contractor on the Upper West Side. We handle the practical side of moisture and water issues in apartments, condos, townhomes, mixed-use buildings, and small commercial spaces. Most of our work is within a short distance of our address on West 110th Street, and we are familiar with the kinds of buildings that make up this part of Manhattan — from pre-war walk-ups to newer mid-rise condos.
The company is owned by Macey Pitts. We keep the team small on purpose. It means the person who looks at your unit is the person who plans the work and is on site while it is happening. There is no sales department and no call center. When you reach out, you are talking to people who will actually be doing the job.
We try to start with a clear picture of what is actually going on. A wet patch on a ceiling is a symptom — it does not tell you whether the source is a slow leak from a riser, a failed seal at a window head, condensation from poor ventilation, or something else entirely. We spend time on inspection because the right repair depends on the right diagnosis.
From there we explain what we found, what we recommend, and what we think is realistic in terms of timeline and cost. If a job needs other trades — a plumber, a licensed electrician, a roofer — we will say so rather than try to absorb it into our scope.
Our day-to-day work is waterproofing support, water damage cleanup, structural drying, moisture control, and the interior restoration steps that follow. We are not a general contractor and we are not a 24-hour emergency company. We are a working crew that does this kind of work consistently, in the kinds of buildings we know.
Manhattan, where most of our jobs are located.
We try to be straightforward about the work we are and are not the right fit for.
If you have an active flood, contact your building management and a plumber first to stop the source. We can usually be on site within normal business hours to assess and start cleanup once the source is contained.
Our work focuses on waterproofing, drying, cleanup, and interior restoration support. For larger renovations or finish work that goes beyond water-related repair, we will recommend trades we trust.
